Don't mind Matt LB... can't stomach Evans... so won't watch

The first series of the last lot was shit as well. Then they ditched Jason Dawe and brought in James May and all was good.

I reckon if they ditch Evans and find someone else it could be a winner, I think LeBlanc will grow into it.

I've tried watching it but it is shit.

What the fuck is that Sabine doing on it? And Eddie Jordan?

It's disjointed but Le Blanc is decent.

Load of old bollocks.

People who are in to cars and car programmes were the ones who were shit at sport in school

Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
I actually don't mind Chris Evans (can be a knob like most people sometimes) and listen to his radio show every day, so I will watch an episode and give an honest assessment.

Never seen a whole episode of Friends, though obviously know who he is.

Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
The new format Top Gear is okay. Joey from friends is surprisingly good.

They need to not try to replicate the old presenters, or it will fail miserably. Time to think up something new for the show.

I thought the second episode was entertaining enough, then again I've always thought top gear was entertaining enough and not much more. Clarkson is monumentally overrated.

Not essential in the days of Clarkson, May and Hammond.

I watched the first episode in the new format. It was as enjoyable as a liver transplant.

NEEDS A TOTAL RETHINK.
And 3 presenters, I've met Sabine Schmitz a fair few times, and she is ok, but a massive geezerbird.
line up should be

1Steve Coogan
2 ?
3 Suzi Perry

norm, I think lovejoy started out working for him too as a young producer

Evans is second only to Timothy Lovejoy for being the ultimate cunt

I think I've only ever seen about 5 Top Gear shows. Not seen Any of the new ones. I guess you need to have some kind of interest in cars right?

Preferred Evans when he used to do power up on the power station circa 91. Great show that

Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
Just watched this weeks episode and thought it was pretty good. The trip to Africa was good entertainment.

Evans in the studio is the worst part because he keeps shouting, it doesn't make the content more interesting it just gets on your tits.

Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
I'd rather watch repeats of 'Murder She Wrote' than watch the new Top Gear.

So to summarise.... early reaction is that Top Gear is now a bit shit?

This week's was much better, more relaxed and the Africa film was good fun.

Think viewing figures don't mean much these days as they only count who watches it live.

Josh 12:59 Mon Jun 6
Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
Top Gear pulled in just 2.8 million viewers last night - well down on the 4.3million viewers Evans and his team drew in their first episode.

Re: Top Gear - returns this weekend
We got free tickets for TFI back in the 90's... Dave Seaman was on there (nice bloke) and that band that sung Brimful of Asha... I can concur that Evans was a complete and utter arse... never liked him
